Its objective is to glorify God by the practice of the greatest commandment: To love God above all things and neighbour as ourselves for God’s sake. We endeavour to love our neighbours by alleviating the sufferings of the sick, poor and needy in our locality with Love and Truth as our motto. St. Joseph’s Hospital has been in its existence since 1921. Our doctors and staffs have been working selflessly, braving the bitter cold and hostile terrain to serve the poor and needy.

Our Philosophy

We believe that St. Joseph’s Hospital has been established to render health service for women and children of this Northen Kashmir, as Jesus Christ the Divine Healer set out healing the sick and suffering, our mission is to participate in His healing ministry. We recognize that our service should be extended primarily towards the poor and needy irrespective of cast, creed, colour and religion.
In the present world where materialism and consumerism are resulting in the violation of the sacredness of life, human rights and eco justice, we endeavour to direct the health care service in the spirit of justice, peace, love, respect and integrity of creation. St. Joseph’s hospital stands as a little flame to counteract the darkness of evil forces that threaten the very life of individual, even of intra-uterine life.

Code Of Ethics

The saving presence of God should be visible in the health facilities offered by St. Joseph’s hospital. The total good of the patient is our prime concern and we should minister to the whole person, always bearing in mind the dignity of person and their spiritual, psychological and social needs.
